The Makke Pant is designed for the more demanding days in the outdoor. A lightweight full function trekking pant with a slim fit and modern cut, engineered for an active user. The Schoeller Dryskin fabric stands up to abuse from branches and rubbing against granite. The DrySkin softshell panels also enhance flexibility where you need it most and Schoeller Keprotec reinforced hems will keep your insteps intact. When you need some cooling, open the inseam ventilation zippers, the hand pockets and lower leg zippers. Long pants are 5 cm longer than regular size with the same waist width. The name Makke comes from Makkene, a mountain in the Offerdals parish of Jämtland, Sweden. The mountain is situated within the Jovnevaerie Sami village, near Sweden’s border with Norway.

GRV’s View

This bestseller by Lundhags has a focus on durability and functionality. As Lundhangs is always looking to improve materials, they have updated these pants from conventional polyester/cotton mix to a mix of recycled polyester and organic cotton, which reduces the ecological footprint significantly. Recycling is still a challenge with this kind of fabric mix. But it is very positive, that the pants is not equipped with PFC’s to keep them dry.

Brand Management for us at GRV means to look at all the issues, which are directly controlled and integrated by the Brand’s Management towards business and supply chain strategy as a whole.

With Brand Commitment GRV is looking at the pro-active efforts towards sustainable development on all levels like the % of sustainable product lines within the whole portfolio, or life cycle assessments and public reporting. These are key indicators of the engagement of a Brand towards responsibility.

On this level GRV is looking at product related information, like material content, supply chain and certification. Warranty, reparability and “end of use” advice are also important aspects. At the moment, GRV is looking at selected highlight products from different product lines, which show the special sustainable efforts of the brand.     Focus is on durability. Versatile, high function products, which are easy to repair. In 2018 Lundhags has started the One Season Program. This program has two aspects: There is only one collection per year, which means that Lundhags retailers can view the whole year ahead and decide at different order slots for summer and winter which product to order. The internal advantages are, that Lundhags has more time to spend on design and maturity of a product and more time to test it before it hits the market.

    This results in very good planning for all  parties involved, which means lesser ecological impacts on many levels as well.

Lundhags was founded 1932 in Jämtland by shoemaker Jonas Lundhag. The company is based in Järpen (Jämtland) and Stockholm, Sweden.

They specialize in outdoor clothing, boots and equipment and employ currently 34 people in the company.
